our Community

Here you will find lots of information about how First Focus helps the local community.  After you have had a look please come and visit us. We run a community café where you can pop in for a chat, have a coffee and find out more about what we do.  A warm welcome awaits you.

First Focus is an important charity that, for over 20 years, has provided a lot of
services that do much to promote the health and well-being of any vulnerable and those in
need. At the same same time it is also a popular, friendly
meeting place where anyone in the town will be welcomed just to socialise and, if
they wish, join in with any of the lots of other fun activities.
Working closely with a variety of partners these are the main things that First
Focus offers:
Making use of the ‘community fridge’ that provides low cost food with
suggested small donations for those who wish to contribute but free to
those who find themselves in difficulties.
Free food parcels in collaboration with other local food banks.
A ‘community hot spot’ for those in need during extreme cold weather.
A small cafe for tea, coffee and snacks.
Lots of opportunites for visitors to become volunteers and help, as much
as they choose, with things like catering, helping in the cafe,
administration and secretarial jobs or helping with activities. They may
also like to take on the role of a trustee.
Help information and advice on things like budgeting, applying for
benefits, managing utility bills, blue badges and filling in other forms.
Help with using computers and exploring the internet
One-to-one counsellng with a fully qualified counsellor
If any of these things cannot be done at First Focus itself visitors are then
signposted to other organisations that may be able to help them.
We also have a regular, seated yoga class, bingo, a lunch club as well as
occasional parties and activities connected to special local and national events.

“Helping people in Fakenham and the surrounding areas by providing information, a friendly social centre, with access to information and support on issues such as health, disability and social matters. No one should feel alone!”

DONATIONS & SPONSORSHIP

First Focus is a small Fakenham charity which relies on support from the local community to keep running. The charity provides IMMEDIATE help and support to all vulnerable people who walk through the door.
We need your donations to be able to continue- without funding and your help this service IS at risk.
