If you are interested in volunteering for a vibrant, exciting and friendly organisation then there are lots of opportunities for you here at First Focus. You are very welcome to come along to any one of our sessions on a Monday through to Thursday, to meet the team and watch us at work and see if there’s anything that you might like to do to help us out, depending on how much and how often you can help and what your own particular skills and interests are.
We’re always looking out for people who might be prepared to help us with any of the following:
ADMINISTRATION
This involves sitting on our reception desk, welcoming and keeping basic records of visitors and helping them with their enquiries.
CATERING
We have a lively social area and you could help with setting up, manning the bar and serving refreshments and helping with clearing up afterwards.
MANUAL
We have a busy team that sets up furniture, boards and banners at the beginning and clearing up at the end of the day and will always welcome an extra pair of helping hands.
INFORMATION
This is one of our most important services and you could help with maintaining our stock of information leaflets, keeping them organised and up to date, helping with their display and directing visitors to any they may need.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
If you’re keen to work with computers we need help with producing notices and information on computers and helping visitors to use them, when doing things like producing their own documents or accessing the internet.These are the main, most important daily jobs at First Focus and we encourage all of our volunteers to make use of the regular training opportunities we provide to enable them to step in and cover for occasional absences of their colleagues. When you join us you will be given plenty of time to settle in and make sure this is the right place for you, before you have a full induction and join the First Focus team.
